About the Site

This website has been created to showcase some of the events, work and things that we do in the Stenek Ha'n Mor District Explorer group.

First created back in 2008, this website has recently been upgraded and re-coded so that leaders can update news, photos, and other information on the site.

Built using PHP and a MySQL database, the site is completely dynamic, and enables us to keep the content fresh and up to date. We also have a PHP members login, this secure part of the website allows Explorers and Leaders to login online and download any event information, extra photographs or videos. The members area is secured using an SSL certificate to encrypt any passwords and usernames being submitted to login online.

The site has been designed by Thomas Dobson (Cornish Web Solutions). It has been made to be as accessible as possible. All pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional and the CSS stylesheets validate as well. This ensures cross browser compatibility, and also people with vision impairments can also enlarge the text size easily as well.

Hopefully this website will continue to promote the district Explorer section, and benefit and engage with the wider community, by showing them what we do in Scouting.
